The winning concept has been realised as an L-shaped condominium that, interrupted by a gap, carries forward the existing architecture of the Elbchaussee and merges harmoniously into the neighbourhood in an element with terraced heights overlooking the Elbe. The contemporary character of the natural stone facing of the facade creates a bridge between the neo-renaissance style of the Heine Villa on one side and the purely functional cubism of the maritime college erected on the other in the early nineteen-thirties. In this, the concept lends a fitting visual continuity to this prominent location between Rainvilleterrasse and Elbchaussee.
